KL – Singapore HSR station locked up

Malaysia in initial stage has locked up 5 location for high speed rail (HSR) station from KL to singapore.

Malaysia Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai reveal the 5 high speed rail station location when attending to interview from Sin Chew Daily Press. According to Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, the 5 HSR station will be located at KL, Putrajaya, Seremban, Batu Bahat and Nusajaya.

Malaysia government hope the high speed rail HSR project can completed by 2020.

According to report released from Land Public Transport Commission on July, the total travel time from KL to Singapore through high speed rail is 90 minutes. If we add up waiting time, hsr station interchange time, and custom entry and clearance timing, total travel time is 2 hours. The travel time is a lot shorter if compare to air flight or land transport which take up around 4 – 5 hours. The HSR ticket fee is expected similar to local budget airline fare.

The 5 HSR station revealed by Malaysia Transport Minister has cause disappointment from people stay at Melaka and Muar. Previous initial plan has include Melaka and Muar in the list of HSR station.  Melaka people especially have high expectation on this high speed rail stop to boost its tourism and economic. The Melaka real estate property has been increased since the previous initial report include it in the list of HSR stop between KL to Singapore.
